One of the joys of retail is meeting such interesting people and sharing their passion through the shop. We were introduced to Jane Amelia Parker who has lived in Holloway for over 25 years by Archway stalwart, local resident & local historian Jen Pedler.
Jane is a North London devotee, who documents London treasures and quirks of design through her website Jane's London. It's all about the details.....her signature photographs are not the well traversed attractions and architectural legends, but the details in doorways, signs, bootscrapers and doorknobs, ornate metalwork, hand-painted signs, mosaic floors, and other hints of the past that most people walk past without even noticing.
Some of her best photographs of the North London area are now available as greeting cards and prints, a selection of which are now available in store and online here. Jane also holds a River Thames foreshore permit and turns some of her clay pipe and glass finds into jewellery and other small accessories which she sells at London markets and online through her other site Amelia Parker; London's History Recycled
Here's a little quiz about the details featured on her cards - how many can you name and locate?
